Belix Dental Elevates Oral Prophylaxis Standards with iTOP

Written by Belixdental
Dr. Pitchaya Vadhanakrai (Dr. Pomm), Founder and Smile Designer at Belix Dental, was invited by Curaden Thailand to participate in the Curaden Academy iTOP (Individually Trained Oral Prophylaxis) Advanced Seminar Asia Pacific 2025, an international hands-on training program bringing together dental professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region.
The Curaden Academy iTOP Advanced Seminar brings together dental professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region to advance evidence-based preventive dentistry.

The iTOP program is internationally recognized for its evidence-based approach to preventive dentistry, focusing on biofilm management, personalized oral hygiene instruction, and long-term maintenance of oral health.

Unlike conventional oral hygiene education, iTOP emphasizes individualized assessment and coaching. Every patient has unique oral anatomy, lifestyle, restorative work, orthodontic appliances, and periodontal conditions. Therefore, oral hygiene instructions should be personalized rather than standardized.

Hands-on training in selecting the correct interdental brush size based on each individual’s oral anatomy for effective daily biofilm removal.

Throughout the seminar, participants attended lectures, practical workshops, and small-group coaching sessions led by certified international iTOP instructors. The training included comprehensive assessment of oral hygiene, proper toothbrushing techniques, selection of interdental brushes based on each patient’s anatomy, and hands-on practice to ensure safe and effective daily plaque removal.

Each participant completed an individualized oral assessment to determine the most suitable interdental cleaning devices and personalized oral hygiene recommendations.
Individual Access Chart helps analyze each patient’s oral health condition and establish a personalized care plan. This is an approach that Belix Dental plans to implement for all patients receiving treatment and preventive care.
Interactive practical sessions allowed participants to experience the iTOP philosophy through individualized coaching and evidence-based preventive care techniques.

At Belix Dental, the knowledge gained from this international training will be incorporated into our preventive care protocols. Every patient will receive a personalized oral health assessment, individualized oral hygiene instruction, and recommendations for the most appropriate oral care tools based on their unique needs.

We believe that successful dental treatment extends beyond clinical procedures. Long-term oral health depends on patients having the knowledge, skills, and confidence to maintain excellent oral hygiene every day.

Conclusion

Belix Dental remains committed to continuously adopting international standards in preventive dentistry, ensuring that every patient receives personalized care for healthier smiles and better long-term oral health.
